Dallas, TX – INVEX, the metal service center enterprise software, extends and optimizes warehouse operations through a newly announced suite of warehouse-focused APIs.
About INVEX
INVEX is a metal ERP platform built exclusively for metal service centers, metal distributors, steel processors, and tube mills. As a cloud-based metal solution, INVEX is fast and intuitive, providing a streamlined user experience. In addition, INVEX can be implemented quickly, requiring minimal, if any, software modifications.
Warehouse APIs
This powerful set of INVEX warehouse APIs allow metal companies to quickly integrate custom applications, third-party applications, and plant equipment with the INVEX platform. The warehouse APIs are part of a full INVEX API library that includes over 50 APIs to interface with INVEX.
Warehouse Integrations
In the warehouse, INVEX APIs allow for the following warehouse optimizations: integration with crane automation and location management tools, production scheduling optimization systems, measurement capture and surface inspection information from plant equipment, as well as integration with PLCs. For coil slitting, INVEX provides APIs to receive the arbor, knife, and spacer information from external arbor setup applications.
For shipping, APIs are available to integrate with Transportation Management Systems (TMS). Orders and transfer requirements are pulled from INVEX, and transports are subsequently planned in the external logistics software. The resulting transport is then pushed back into INVEX using the Transport API, to create the transport in the INVEX Shipping application.
Additional shipping integration APIs are available to integrate the INVEX Transport Planning function to an external system to obtain the freight cost, as well as the ability to perform custom finished good ready-to-ship verifications based on a steel service centers’ custom rules.
APIs are also available for business document, tag, and label customization to allow INVEX customers to create their own custom formats.
API Technology
All INVEX APIs adhere to the most secure technology standards to maintain a high degree of data integrity:
- Representational State Transfer (REST 2.0) architectural standard
- Industry standard JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) for data exchange
- Authentication provided by OAuth 2.0 Machine to Machine (M2M) Authorization
- Communication secured via HTTPS protocol
INVEX customers can chose to integrate external functions or applications using their in-house technology team, or use Invera’s network of Third Party Certified partners to perform this work.
