Dover, NJ – Dover Tubular Alloys, Inc. a master distributor of stainless and aluminum tube and pipe, has implemented the INVEX metal enterprise software. INVEX is the cloud-based metal service center software from Invera that is fast to implement, and e-commerce enabled.
Dover Tubular implemented a full complement of INVEX enterprise (ERP) software features, including inventory management, order entry, steel purchasing, shop-floor mobile functions, online shipment planning, e-commerce customer self-service, and financial applications for AR, AP, and GL.
The Sales team benefited from real-time Quote Entry with an integrated Metal Price Book and the Order Status Desktop, which shows a comprehensive status of a customer order at a single glance. Common business cases such as stock pulls, processed cut sales, buyouts, direct shipments from the mill, and blanket orders are all easy to perform and built into the metal-specific INVEX software.
In production, as orders are entered by Sales for stock pulls or saw cut orders, they immediately appear online for fulfillment by the warehouse team. For logistics, the online Shipping Planning function provides a comprehensive, multi-layer inquiry that summarizes orders by customer, delivery route, or delivery zone for better load consolidation. Mill Test Reports, if required, are automatically printed and/or emailed to the customer the moment an order ships.
The INVEX metal software provides a unique value proposition with easy-to-use metal-specific software and a toolbox of APIs to extend the capabilities of the software. These INVEX APIs have provided the flexibility to integrate with multiple external software systems. There is unlimited potential to service our customers better and improve our internal efficiencies.

Dover Tubular has used the toolbox of APIs to compute freight rates for quotes and orders, verify mill test certificates based on custom validation rules, facilitate custom tablet-based receiving applications, and to enable AR & AP automations through machine learning AI. In addition, as the shipping department creates transports in INVEX, these transports are passed to a Transport Management System (TMS) for transport status tracking. These integrations were performed by the INVEX Certified Partner, Star Software.
